Sometimes I wake up with so many ideas, so many possibilities that my head is literally buzzing.
“I’m going to write an article on this, but I need to work on the lovely purple painting, maybe I should get that group of women together that run their own businesses, but first I need to put this message on Facebook, wait, I want to call my Mother it’s been a few days, how about a cup of tea, first to the toilet, oh, dear we’re nearly out of toilet paper, need to do the shopping, what are we going to eat tonight, could I persuade my husband to eat out somewhere tonight, probably not, he is still tired from his bad cold, well, I’ll get something in later, for now let’s write this article I was thinking about…”
Do you know the feeling?? It just continues whirling around like some thick broth, probably with some gems of ideas in between all the usual practical and not so practical stuff. It is not so much that it doesn’t make sense, but the explosive energy of the possibilities makes it difficult to give any one idea enough focus and direction to complete it. Having visited a 100 ideas of what I can do with my life on a Saturday like today, I already feel exhausted and ready for a nap.
My Mind prefers order, sequence, direction, completion and the Peace and Satisfaction that generally come from knowing that I am doing the things I should be doing.

My Mind prefers order, sequence, direction, completion and the Peace and Satisfaction that generally come from knowing that I am doing the things I should be doing.
If I do take that nap, I reach some level of the Peace I want, by letting the ideas come and go and doing very little about them. But it doesn’t give me the Satisfaction that I also want.
As soon as that thought enters my head, there goes the chance of Peace and the cycle starts again.
One of the problems is a mis-match of timing. The energy of thought belongs to the element of Air.
It moves quickly and easily, has few limitations and is very intangible. It will not be stopped, coaxed, calmed or in any way slowed down. Because of its lack of substance and grounding, which is a much slower energy, it will easily be pushed aside by the next thought and so the cycle continues.
In order to create something in a physical form, we have to grab the idea and slow it down by giving it Grounding. Imagine a balloon on a string flying freely in the wind. You can do little more than admire it, until you manage to catch hold of the string and feel the form of the balloon in your hands.
As soon as you hold the balloon or Idea in your hands, you are much closer to knowing what you can actually do with it. It feels more real. You see its shape, feel its possibilities and anticipate how it will react to whatever you may do with it.
There are 4 basic stages to completing a project or creation:
1. Idea --> 2. Grounding --> 3. Shaping --> 4. Finishing
The current fast-moving energies often keep us hanging in the first stage, keeping a multitude of ideas. The swiftness of the energy even gives us the feeling that this is enough. We have visited the idea, done a quick scan of its potential and in our minds we have thereby seen a movie of the idea from beginning to end. In this sense, it has lived out its life already. The thirst that is being awakened in us for novelty and excitement, drives us on to the next idea.
So the question is, in this New Energy, what does it take to manifest new potentials on Earth, to make them live, not only in our heads, but in the physical form?
Let us get back to the 4 stages of any creation and look at stage 2, Grounding. Grab that string on the balloon!
When your mind is racing you basically have 2 choices:
- Race along trying to keep up with it which is a race you will never win
- Choose to focus your energy on something different and allow your mind to join you there.
After a few actions such as looking at Facebook, making tea, taking my vitamins etc, I decided to just do something to step out of the mind race I woke up with this morning . Sometimes I get caught up in the debate with myself about which action is the most important, which idea has the most merit, which project will bring me the furthest etc etc. You see it I’m sure, all that air energy! Sooner or later, I have to just do something.
Today I chose to write this article. I turned on the computer, sat down and saved a document.
And that was the grounding right there! Stage 2 completed.
As I started to write, my thoughts became curious and came to join me. And before I knew it,
Stage 3 was happening, this article was taking shape, pretty much of its own accord.
As soon as you give an idea some Grounding, it will start attracting Energy!
This is important because we currently have access to one of the most Creative energies that has ever existed on Earth. This Aquarian Age wants to move us forward, it wants us to let go of what is no longer working and to move on to creating the New.
The explosive Energy we are feeling, sometimes makes us feel restless, disorientated, tired and bewildered, it can even feel fearful because it forces us to break out of our old patterns.
The one way to feel comfortable in this Energy is to Create!
By Creating, you are using the Power of the New and Natural Energies optimally.
You are taking the reins into your own hands and you are providing the direction. And you will notice that you will attract energies to support you and to drive you forward, just like I attracted the attention of my own mind, by making a choice to write this article.
So whatever you are creating, spend some time with the Grounding aspect of it.
Make space for it, allow it to be, welcome it, look for elements to support it wherever you go.
Ideas require you to ground yourself and to be willing for them to take shape, by being open and ready. If you are setting up your own business for instance, and you don’t have enough clients, don’t sit and wait for them. Set aside time in your agenda for client appointments, contact your network, invite people to visit you at those times, talk about your business. Use your Energy to be present and inviting at those times and give it your full attention. By doing this, you are grounding yourself and your business. Energy-wise, you are acting like a magnet, firmly attracting supporting energies.
The last essential step is to Believe in yourself and Believe in your Idea.
This is the only way to complete the Shaping of stage 3 and enter the Completing stage 4.
Every time you doubt, you are diluting your Energy and therefore your ability to attract support. When doubt raises its ugly head, again turn your attention to something concrete or practical and watch your mental energy join you there. Before you know it, it will contributing to your progress.
Time will show how your ideas will work out- trying to predict the outcome makes little sense.
For now, give your ideas the Nourishment and the Conditions that they need to flourish.
And they will.
