“May you live in interesting times” is an old Chinese curse,
but I promise I don’t mean this in the negative sense.
Having said that, I can’t say that I find the current energies easy.
All around me I notice that people are facing a lot of their
old patterns, again.
Do you know that feeling? All those things you thought you
had dealt with, are coming up to be faced;
'Oh NO, I still react the same way when I’m faced with this situation!!’
In my case I notice that I still stress, worry and sometimes become paralyzed when my Mind insists on finding the optimal solution to problems that can’t be optimally solved. When that happens, my Mind spins and goes around and around. I keep looking for answers and I don’t get any further.
Rabbits and headlights come to mind.
These 7 tips will help you appreciate the process of facing old patterns for the umpteenth time and be gentle with yourself in the process. It's all about your perspective:
When you can observe yourself falling into the pattern, it means you are already well aware of it. You know yourself and you recognize your pitfalls and this means that you have come a long way from the days when you did everything automatically. Well done!
Having recognized an old pattern, you have a conscious choice.
Do I want to do what I always do? Or do I want to try something different.
Remember the saying; ”If you do what you did, you’ll get what you got!”
If you find yourself falling into your old mental traps harder than ever, thank yourself. Apparently you have chosen to illustrate this habit really, really clearly so that you can no longer fool you or anyone else.
When you have hit rock-bottom and faced your habits this clearly, there is no going back. You have reached the point when definite change is the only option. Yeah, time to celebrate!
- Main pattern
Finally you may judge, criticize or belittle yourself in the process, calling yourself names for repeating seeming mistakes or telling yourself you will never learn. If so, this is your number 1 old pattern to break!!
Notice this tendency, along with the thoughts and emotions that accompany it. Write them down.
- Give it Time
Change requires gentleness, time and acceptance. When we are under pressure we fall into our shadow energies. So support yourself by allowing change to happen at exactly the pace it happens.
If you can trust that life will bring you exactly what you need to mirror and trigger those things you need to work on, you do not need to apply any force in order to grow. Relax in yourself.
Know that by living each day as it comes, you are working towards your intentions. Life is good!
Next time I find myself panic-stricken, stressed or endlessly worrying about a decision, I’ll come right back and read this again. Here's hoping that these tips can also help you to be gentle with your beautiful selves.
